NaviVolta is a navigation app for electric cars. This policy sets out plainly what data is processed — in short: almost everything stays on your device.
NaviVolta has no accounts and no server. All of your data is held on your device alone, so you delete it yourself — immediately and completely, without having to contact us.
Nothing from the app reaches us, so there is nothing for us to delete at our end. The only exception is emails and form answers that you choose to send us — see “When you write to us”. Questions: navivolta.app@gmail.com.
NaviVolta has no server of its own and no user accounts. Your car profile, trip history and settings are kept locally on the device. We do not upload them, sell them or share them with advertisers.
| Data | Purpose | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Shows your position, plans a route and finds nearby charging stations | On the device; coordinates are sent to the map provider so the route can be drawn |
| Car | Make, model, battery, consumption — to estimate range and cost | On the device only |
| Trips | History: start (coordinates only when it is your GPS position) and destination (name only), date and time, distance, planned and dashboard charge, charging stops — for statistics and forecast accuracy. This is your location history; delete a single trip in “All trips” or everything at once (see the top). Trips older than 18 months are deleted by the app automatically | On the device only |
| Documents | Insurance, roadworthiness inspection and vignette dates — for reminders | On the device only |
| Favourite and recent places | For a place found by search — only its name (no coordinates or address); tapping it searches again. For a charger — its position from the operator's data | On the device only |
| Settings | Language and theme | On the device only |
| Current trip | The destination and waypoints (with coordinates), so navigation can resume after an interruption and in Android Auto | On the device only; overwritten by the next trip |
| Accepted terms | The terms version and the time you accepted them | On the device only |
Cost and consumption figures are a good-faith estimate, not an invoice.
To show a map and a route, NaviVolta sends what is needed (coordinates, for example) to the providers below. They process that data under their own policies:
Google and Cloudflare (which hosts this website and sees its visitors' IP addresses) also transfer data to the USA; both companies participate in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Requests travel encrypted (HTTPS). NaviVolta builds no advertising profiles and does not combine data across services.
If you turn reminders on, the app schedules local notifications on the device — before your insurance expires, for instance, and once a year on 1 November about winter mode and winter tyres. They are handled entirely by your phone and can be switched off at any time in the system settings.
Because everything is stored locally, the data is entirely under your control. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes everything irreversibly from the device. The steps are at the top of this page.
NaviVolta is intended for people aged 18 and over and does not knowingly collect data about minors.
The app sends nothing to us by itself. There are ways for you to write to us, and in each one you decide what to send:
We use these messages only to fix the app and reply to you, and tester sign-ups only to give you access and tell you about new versions. We don't pass them to anyone or use them for advertising. Emails to testers are sent so that nobody sees the other recipients' addresses.
We keep them while testing lasts and delete them within 12 months after it ends. You can ask us to delete yours at any time — write to navivolta.app@gmail.com.
Aleksandar Stoyanov, a private individual, the author of NaviVolta. Contact: navivolta.app@gmail.com. There is no data protection officer: the app is in closed testing and no data is processed on a large scale.
We have no access to the data on your phone (garage, trips, documents, settings) and receive no copy of it. We are the controller for the feedback emails and form and for the tester register — that is, for what you send us.
| What | What for | Basis (GDPR) | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tester sign-up | To add you in Google Play and write to you about new versions | Art. 6(1)(b) — steps taken at your request, before and during the test | Until testing ends and up to 12 months after |
| Feedback emails and form | To fix the app and reply to you | Art. 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in fixing what does not work | Until testing ends and up to 12 months after |
| Data inside the app (garage, trips, documents) | Route planning, statistics, reminders | Not processed by us — it stays on your device | Trips: 18 months on the phone; the rest until you delete it |
| Coordinates sent to the map provider | To draw the map and the route | Art. 6(1)(b) — without them the app cannot do what you opened it for | We keep none; at Mapbox, per their policy |
We make no automated decisions about you and do not profile you (Art. 22 GDPR). You are under no obligation to give us anything — but without an email address we cannot add you to the test.
For the data we control (emails, the form, the tester register) you have the right to:
Write to navivolta.app@gmail.com; we answer within one month (Art. 12(3)). For the data inside the app you do not need us: "Export everything as text" and "Delete everything" are in Profile → Privacy → My data (from alpha.59).
If you believe we process your data unlawfully, tell us first — but you may also complain directly to the supervisory authority:
Commission for Personal Data Protection (Bulgaria)
Sofia 1592, 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd.
tel. +359 2 915 3519 · kzld@cpdp.bg ·
www.cpdp.bg
A complaint is filed within 6 months of learning of the breach and no later than 2 years after it (Art. 38 of the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act). You may also go to court (Art. 39).
When the closed test ends we will write to you once. The tester register and the emails are deleted within 12 months of that. The data inside the app on your phone does not depend on us — it stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app.
One note about older versions: up to and including alpha.57 the app allowed Android's automatic backup, so its data may have reached your Google account. From alpha.59 that is switched off. You can delete the backup at drive.google.com → Settings → Manage apps.
When this policy changes, the “effective from” date at the top is updated. The app is an early Alpha and is being developed actively; if how we handle data changes materially, this text will be updated too.
